Annotated_Summary

A preferred idea of the current magnetic locking system is being used to releasably lock two components together. In the first embodiment, the locking system contains a ferro-magnetic component that is linked to the first embodiment that is also made of a ferro-magnetic material. Subsequently, the second embodiment has a housing attached to it and is positioned close to the other ferro-magnetic component. This housing has two blocks that will be sandwiched together to make a block halfway. In addition, there is a gap in it where a permanent magnet is placed and can rotate freely. This locking system comprises a switch mechanism that operates in conjunction with the previously mentioned magnet and the housing. It is constructed and arranged accordingly to the housing and the permanent magnet to initiate the ‘’on’’ and ‘’off’’ operation of the locking system. This is achieved by attracting the ferro-magnetic material. In another concept, the housing and permanent magnet is replaced by an electromagnet where it is associated with the second component. The electromagnet is wired to a power supply and is controlled by a switch. When it is activated, the electromagnet produces a strong magnetic force on the ferro-magnetic component that is connected to the first component, Jie Lui. (2010).
